The first round of the UEFA Champions League Matchday 1 ended Tuesday with six wins, two of them from outside, and two draws. Paris-Saint-Germain, Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Feyenoord Rotterdam defeated their respective hosts Borussia Dortmund, Crvena Zvezda, Antwerp and Celtic Glasgow while FC Porto and RB Leipzig took the three points from (Shakhtar) Donetsk and (Young Boys) Bern.

There was no victory from the fights between Milan AC and New Castle (0-0) and Lazio Rome and Atlético Madrid (1-1).

With a penalty shot from Kilian Mbapé and Achraf Hakmi’s marvelous goal, Paris-Saint-Germain took over Borussia Dortmund at Parc de Prince, in Paris. The French team had had 68% of ball possession and the double as many passes its German counterpart did. Paris now leads the group F.

Seventy-six percent of possession and 733 passes for Manchester City at Etihad Stadium where Crvena Zvezda (24% possession, 234 passes) traveled to. The final score is 3-1 despite that the visitors scored first by Osman Bukari (45’). Two minutes after ceding the opening score, Manchester City equalized (47’) and took the advantage (60’) with Julián Alvarez scoring each time. Rodri (73’) completed the win.

It was a festival of 5 goals for FC Barcelona without conceding any from Antwerp in Catalogna. Joao Felix (11’, 66’), Robert Lewandowsky (19’), Gaví (55’) and Jelle Bataille against his camp (22’) scored for Barcelona.

FC Porto won the other game of the group H in Donetsk against Shakhtar(1-3). But Barcelona is the group leader for now.

In the group E Feyenoord (2-0) beat Celtic Glasgow in Rotterdam thanks to Calvin Stengs (45’+2) and Alireza Jahanbakhsh. A remarkable fact in this game is that two Celtic’s players were sent out. Porto is leading the group as Atlético Madrid and Lazio Roma were content with a draw.   

Earlier in the day, RB Leipzig went win Young Boys at Wankdorf Stadium, in Bern, Switzerland (1 – 3). Milan AC was not able to transform any of its nine shots on target into goal while hosting New Castle in its San Siro stadium.

The second round of the matchday 1 of the UEFA Champion Leagues is taking place this Wednesday. Real Madrid is hosting Union Berlin, Manchester United travels to Munich to affront Bayern, Braga is waiting for Napoli, FC Sevilla is welcoming Lens, Copenhagen is going to fight Galatasaray, Benfica is housing RB Salzburg, Arsenal is awaiting PSV Eindhoven and the Real Sociedad is hosting Inter Milan.
